National Insurance Academy (NIA), a premier insurance institute in India was established in the year 1980 by the Pune Sector Insurance companies to promote Education and Training in Insurance, Pension and Allied Areas.
POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT (PGDM)

The curriculum consists of 55% core Management subjects like Finance, HR, Marketing, Analytics and Technology along with 45% Insurance Subjects viz. General Insurance, Life Insurance, Re-Insurance and Pension. Thus, the PGDM of NIA stands out in comparison with other PGDM programmes of similar nature and gives the student an added advantage of choosing an industry like Insurance technology which is set for unprecedented expansion, while making their career choices. This programme is so designed to nurture students for top leadership role like CEOs in future and also to create entrepreneurs in the field of Insurance and Technology.
The unique blend of Management and Insurance has made the programme attractive to the employers giving a choice of well nurtured talent ready to take up any managerial position in Insurance and allied areas. NIA has the distinction of having 100% placement record right from the First Batch. The Alumni are working with reputed Multinational and Public Sector Reinsurance, Insurance Companies, Insurance Brokers and leading IT Companies, both in India and abroad.
The PGDM is a full time programme that has hostel facility for about 120 number of students run from a 32 Acre sylvan campus with the state-of-the-art facilities that include classrooms, labs, conference hall etc. In addition, the campus has a swimming pool, outdoor games facilities, gym and yoga centre.
PLACEMENTS
Since inception NIA has an enviable and 100% campus placement.
100% placement for Batch 2023-25. All the students have been placed with the highest package of Rs. 20 lakh and the average package of Rs. 12.74 lakh p.a.

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS
Academic Qualication:
Applicants should have completed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
Students who are in the final year of their undergraduate program may also apply, provided that they can furnish their examination results by June 30, 2026.
He/She should have appeared for CAT 2025 / XAT 2026 / CMAT 2026 and scored the requisite cut off percentiles as specied in the Qualifying Criteria of NIA as follows
Age Criteria: Upper age limit is 28 years for General / EWS / OBC - NC candidates, and 30 years for SC/ST/DA candidates as on 1 July 2026.
He/She should have appeared for CAT 2025 / XAT 2026 / CMAT 2026 and scored the requisite cut off percentiles as specied in the Qualifying Criteria of NIA as follows
Age Criteria: Upper age limit is 28 years for General / EWS / OBC - NC candidates, and 30 years for SC/ST/DA candidates as on 1 July 2026.
The program fee for two years, that includes tuition fee, professional and incidental expenses towards the conduct of the program shall be Rs 12,00,000/-.
The students shall also have to pay Rs 2,00,000/- for a year towards hostel and food charges. Provision of hostel facility will be subject to availability. The students who do not stay in the campus hostel need not pay the hostel accommodation charges. Education loans are available from leading Public Sector and Private Banks under the Premier Institution Scheme.
Scholarships:
NIA gives 9 scholarships of Rs. 1 lakh each to meritorious students, girl students and eligible students belonging to specified categories
including students belonging to economically weaker sections.

Every student has to complete six trimesters of intense academic work and 8-10 weeks of Summer Internship Program to qualify for the diploma.
