M.Des Automobile Design

A comprehensive, future-oriented curriculum that continually develops the skills, knowledge and attitudes that allows success in the practice of Automobile Design, while incorporating the most current developments in the field.

Curriculum aims to provide students with as many tools as possible to empower them as they go out into the world to develop their careers. Our curriculum prepares aspiring professionals to learn the theory and the practice that will enable them to go out into the working world with competence, maturity and the ability to operate independently.

The first half of the program is dedicated to learning the fundamentals: concept sketching, rendering, three-dimensional model making, presentation techniques, computer-aided design tools, emerging technologies and energy sources, and the principles of ergonomics, automobile engineering, and materials technology.

The final half is focused on putting the skills learned in the early terms into practice, refining skills, and finding appropriate specialties. Greater emphasis is placed on digital design techniques and presentation during the second half of the curriculum. The overall curriculum is divided into following parts:

Design Fundamentals
Automobile Design Studios
Digital Tools
Allied Subjects

The main automobile design subjects consist of design studios, which run throughout the program duration in each trimester. The final trimester studios are reserved for industry projects.

Beginning with the third trimester, one automobile design studio per term forms the core of the concentration. The design studios focus on both interior and exterior of an automobile. There is a digital core, which run along the program and includes Digital Visual Communication and 3D Modeling using Autodesk Alias.

During the course, students create clay models of their designs. DYPDC is committed to traditional model building and the lessons of craft, volume, and form that it teaches. While digital models are frequently translated into physical models, a few exercises will take a clay model and import it into the digital realm by taking points right from the clay.

Allied subjects include areas, which are integral to the design process. The subjects are Basic Automobile Engineering, Vehicle Architecture, Vehicle Packaging and Materials Processes, Human Factors, User Research, Trends Analysis and Forecasting, Design Management, Marketing and Design, Branding, and Ergonomics.

Students engage with a number of projects during the course of the program. They work on individual design projects as well as on group design projects. This acts as a training ground and prepares them for future employment.

But there is a mega project for students, which is unsurpassable. The final project is the most satisfying and rewarding aspect of the program for our students. It provides them a platform to demonstrate all the skills and knowledge learnt throughout the program.

M.Des. Computer Interaction Design

The Masters of Design in Interaction Design uses the professional approach to impart the necessary tools, techniques, knowledge and skills for practicing interaction designing. You are imparted the theoretical knowledge and the professional skills in a balanced manner. The program not only focuses on teaching how things are done but also reflects largely on why they are done.

The interaction design program integrates design, computer science, social science, psychology and business processes to provide a broad understanding regarding the design and use of digital systems.

You will learn to frame a problem, develop concepts and envision scenarios in order to approach a design project. You will learn principles of interaction design, how to create user experiences, prototype interactions, human interface design, principles of communication design, and design research methods.

The program covers a deep understanding of usability related methods and project management. It teaches to design engaging, accessible and usable screen-based interfaces. It offers lessons in psychology covering perception and cognition and sociology theory. Students learn to generate personas, work in agile environments, information architecture, usability testing, eye tracking and workflow analysis.

The program offers a unique opportunity to gain a competitive edge over others. Students will be able to find occupations as: Interaction Designer User Experience Designer, Mobile App Designer, Web Designer, Front End Developer, Visual Designer, Strategic Design Thinkers, Design Manager, Service Designer and many more such positions.

M.Des Engineering Product Design

This is a master’s level program specially designed for engineers. The program is aimed at creating product development leaders who create world-class, innovative products. The program provides advanced knowledge of industrial design and prepares students with knowledge and skills required to develop a new product or improve an existing product.

The program will expose the students to theory and practice of state-of-the-art product design and development through an array of specifically introduced topics coupled with hands-on skills, appropriate methods / toolkits and their application for a stated purpose.

The program invites students who are passionate about developing innovative, cost effective products of high aesthetic value. The program prepares students to be exceptional and confident practitioners for the changing needs of the industry.

The program is ideal for an engineer as it provides real-world knowledge, theoretical and practical foundation of the product development process. It augments the engineering knowledge already acquired by the student with key set of design skills and knowledge. It prepares a student with smart product development capabilities.

PG Diploma in Digital Modelling

The course is specially developed keeping in mind the current and future industry requirements. It is a hands-on course, which enables students to pursue a creative career with technological skills. It is important to understand that this program is not about teaching design, but about the digital tools, which helps to convert designs and concepts into three-dimensional models.

This is a unique course, which provides highly advance, practical three-dimensional digital modeling knowledge and skills. Through the course, the students will acquire theoretical and technical knowledge within a project-based environment.

The program starts with familiarizing students with the software and the methodology of taking paper / digital sketches and converting them to digital models. Each lesson will begin with the theoretical description, explanation and use of commands and features of the software and will culminate with specially designed exercises. Students will end up with a 3-D model of a complete car. The success of the course depends a lot on practice for which time will be provided.

Ability for hard-work, patience, attention to detail, aesthetic appreciation, clear communication in terms of understanding and explaining is extremely important for program success.

How To Apply

All students aspiring to take admission to various UG and PG courses offered by ADYP University are required to attempt the ACET. ACET is ADYPU Common Entrance Test. This is the mandatory entrance test for all prospective students from India who seek an admission to any undergraduate or postgraduate program at any school under ADYP University umbrella. Taking this test is the first-step to the admission procedure. The ACET is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and is conducted at designated test-centers in India. The ACET is program-specific. Students have to register for the test as soon as possible on the ADYPU website. Students have to select a nearby test-center, program of their choice, and pay registration fee of Rs.2000/- (two thousand only) for the ACET (Entrance Test). Early-bird – registrations are beneficial for students in many ways. It is advised to register for the test as early as possible to avoid network congestions and the resultant delays which generally take place as the closing date approaches.

The registration process for ACET is simple; aspirants can complete the registration process here. Read for more information given in the links on the left.
