Curriculum: The first-of-its-kind curriculum in India, designed in consultation with international media experts and Times Group editors.

Project Work: Acquire skills through practical project work spread over six semesters. Take up theme-based Graduation Project under faculty guidance in Semester 6.

Studio Facilities: Spend 60% of your time in state-of-the-art TV and radio studios developed in collaboration with Times Now and Radio Mirchi.

Media Software: Learn to use Audacity, Adobe Premier, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign. Gain from web training that uses the same CMS as the Times Group.

Media Trends: Participate in weekly discussions on latest developments in media with faculty members and top editors, directors, and managers of The Times of India.

Field Trips: Join field trips every semester to gather information and convert the data into news reports and bulletins.

Special Courses: Attend special courses in life skills, organizational behaviour, and entrepreneurial management.

Internship Opportunity: Intern with a media organisation for six to eight weeks. The internship is organised by the Times School of Media.

A unique feature of the curriculum is the stress on practical work. The students spend 60% of their time in state-of- the-art labs learning skills under the guidance of a highly experienced Faculty that has worked in the industry and is familiar with the latest technology. The goal is to make the students industry ready without diluting the academic rigour.

Media Trends

A unique component of the programme is a weekly discussion on important developments in the field of media and the way these changes
are impacting the industry. Video conferencing is used to enable top editors and managers of the Times Group to join the discussion, and share their insights. No other course in the world offers such hands on learning.

Projects
The objective of the activity is to help students acquire professional skills across media disciplines. In Semester 1, the students produce
a weekly Campus Paper as part of their Minor Project work. In Semester II they set up individual blogs and run a website. In Semester III, they anchor a weekly TV news bulletin and create radio programmes for being broadcast on Internet radio. In Semester IV, they query information under the Right to Information Act and develop publishable quality news reports. They also create public relations campaigns on socially relevant issues during this semester. In Semester V, the students are given the freedom to select the media of their choice for project work. The Semester VI project, which is the course-ending Graduation Project, is much more intensive. The course work involves preparing a theme-based dissertation under Faculty guidance.

Internship
The students are required to do two internships during the three-year programme. The first internship is scheduled in the summer break between the second semester and the third semester; and the second internship is scheduled between the fourth and the fifth semesters. Each internship is of six to eight weeks.

Special Courses
The University values the all-round development of students, and to achieve this conducts special courses in Life Skills, Organisational Behaviour and Entrepreneurial Management. These courses, totalling 10 credits, are offered in Semester 1 and Semester II..

Eligibility

  • Class 12 from any recognized board with minimum 5 subjects and at least 40% aggregate marks; passed in 2018/ 2019
  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st October,1999 (Date of Birth as recorded in the High School/ Secondary Education Board/ University Certificate only will be taken as authentic) are only eligible to apply for admission

Selection Criteria

  • Based on Class 12 Score in specified subjects (details in admission document for BA - JMC Program) normalised for each Indian board

OR

  • Based on Score in SAT examination conducted by The College Board. The Designated Institution (DI) code is 7594. All applicants applying with SAT score need to send us their official transcripts using this code.
  • The candidates may be required to appear for a language proficiency test (English or Hindi as per the program selected) if the University decides to conduct the same. The format, and schedule will be announced well in advance but not later than 31 May 2019. The marks obtained in the language examination, may be considered for the overall merit.

How To Apply

APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. How to obtain and Fill the Application Form: The students may fill the application forms on line using net banking/credit/debit card at https://applications.bennett.edu.in.
2. There is no separate on-line application form for the NRI/International student’s. However, students shall be provided an option to be considered under NRI category and which shall then lead to downloading of a sponsorship letter, which must be filled and sent to the University, to enable application being considered.

4. Important to note before submission of Application Form.
(a) The candidates must go through and undertake the important terms and condition available at start of on line application form and ensure to read the admission procedure document carefully, as updated from time to time on the University’s website before applying for admission.
(b) Application Status: Candidates applying shall receive a unique Application No. and an e-mail acknowledging the receipt, along with further guidelines.
(c) Candidates shall receive few reminder mails, if required, and thus must view the mails from the University and comply with guidelines.
(d) Candidates are also advised to keep a downloaded copy of Application Form. All issues regarding application form, marks or data filled there in, must be resolved by the candidate with admission section of the University, before declaration of merit. No appeals thereafter are acceptable.
(e) Photocopies of 10th/12th standard mark sheets along with SAT score card as applicable, (if results have been announced) must be uploaded on the online form or while filling the marks and before submission of application

  • Marks/scores to be updated after declaration of respective results - Within 7 days@
  • First set of admission offers* - Within 10 Days of declaration of CBSE board results (tentative*)
  • Fee payment and confirmation of admission - Within 7 days of admission offer
  • Commencement of classes (Tentative) - 3rd week July 2019 (tentative*)

* Subject to declaration of results on schedule. More than one list may be announced, if required depending upon filling of seats)

@Applications beyond the specified last date, shall only be eligible for additional rounds, if announced by the University.
