Bennett University Unveils School of Design: Where Passion Meets Profession

Bennet University has launched its School of Design, aiming to position India as global design powerhouse. The school offers a future ready personalised curriculum with a research driven approach to human centred design.
The School of Design provides a unique bachelor of Design four-year program with specialisation in Fashion Design, Communication Design and Game Design. The school fosters innovation, entrepreneurship and hands on learning with industry leaders, preparing students to redefine problem-solving through sustainable and impactful solutions.
Prof Manisha Mohan, Dean, School of Design, expressed her excitement about the launch, stating, “I am delighted to announce the launch of our School of Design at Bennett University. This represents our commitment to creating a multidisciplinary and innovative academic environment, inspired by critical thinking, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence. Our goal is to shape designers who embrace diversity, think globally, and create impact at both individual and community levels. In an era driven by AI and rapid change, we stand committed to fostering a generation of thinkers, makers, and leaders who design for a better, more inclusive world.”
Samarendra Mohapatra, Executive Director & Head – Business Growth & Strategy, PDS West Asia, JLL, praised the launch and said, “It was an impressive launch of a new age School of Design at Bennett University. The curriculum encompasses the holistic development of a student giving ample opportunity to explore one’s strengths, pursue their passion, and be future-ready. The seriousness of the administration, of ensuring that their students are employable across the industries, was evident from the long round-table discussion. I wish every student will have a great time learning in this beautiful, well-equipped sprawling campus.”
Gavin Remedios, Practice Leader, Experience Design - India/South Asia, IBM, highlighted the growing significance of design education, and said, “The accompanying roundtable conference was particularly insightful, highlighting the array of technical and soft skills that future designers must possess to excel in an ever-evolving landscape. I'm excited to see Bennett School of Design nurture the next generation of Design & Innovation leaders.”
The School of Design at Bennett University is supported by a strong advisory board consisting of esteemed industry leaders and visionaries. The board comprises notable figures such as Sunil Sethi, Samant Chauhan, Pradyumna Vyas, Mandira Wirk, Shantanu & Nikhil, Nitish Mittrsain, Ashwini Deshpande, Prakash Moorthy, Ellis Bartholomeus, Shanoo Bhatia, Sanath PC, and Amit Gulati, who bring their expertise and experience to guide the school's vision and mission.
The launch event featured a roundtable discussion with industry experts on the theme "Redefining Creativity in the Age of AI: The Future of Design and AI." The panel included renowned professionals from various design disciplines, such as

As part of its commitment to fostering creativity, Bennett University hosted a workshop titled "The Power of Color in Branding", conducted by renowned sculptor and design educator Dr Mukesh Singh. The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of seamless pattern design and the role of color in branding and visual storytelling.
A workshop was conducted for Class 12 students, providing an introduction to the principles of seamless pattern design utilizing primary and secondary colors. The session emphasised the significance of color in branding and visual storytelling, and enabled participants to explore practical techniques for creating versatile patterns applicable to diverse design contexts.
